One Main Place

Architect: Skidmore, Owings & Merrill

This cast in place concrete and granite building originally was the first phase of a three phase construction project back in 1968, it was to include a twin tower at 45 stories and a large hotel but were not built. One Main Place has a sunken plaza from street level with underground pedestrian ways lined with shops. This skyscraper is part of the network of underground shopping plazas that connect to other buildings.
