Comerica Bank Tower
Formerly Bank One Center
Architect: Philip Johnson/John Burgee

This striking 60-story granite and glass skyscraper has setbacks topped with vaulted shapes at the upper area of the tower, giving it a tapered appearance. The top of the tower is crowned with a cross vault similar to the vaulted skylight of the bank hall below thereby integrating the two and giving the building its distinguished appearance on the skyline. The bank hall is set back from Ervay Street by a garden and features a fascinating viewpoint with its vaulted skylight. From the cross vault main entrance to the bank, you walk through a 55-foot granite arch into the atrium, across a bridge overlooking the bank-trading floor below. The office tower rising behind the bank hall building, has entrances on Elm and Main and another entrance through a garden setting of trees along St. Paul Street. The building has a beautiful Italian marble-clad lobby and includes underground parking and access to the underground walkways for retail shops, restaurants and other nearby buildings.
